We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team at our Regina office.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for managing and executing key financial processes within the organization, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll functions, and tax filings, specifically GST and PST. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution to support the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma in accounting or equivalent training/work experience.
Minimum two years experience in a role that demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of this position.
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and understanding of financial reports.
Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The candidates’ responsibilities will include:
Accounts Receivable Management: Handle invoicing, process incoming payments and maintain the billing system.
Manage collections, deposits and follow-up on overdue accounts to ensure timely receivables.
Accounts Payable Management: Process vendor invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and manage payments.
Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts to ensure accuracy of the financial information and resolve discrepancies.
Payroll Administration: Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and regulations. Manage payroll tax and benefit contributions.
GST/PST Tax Filings: Prepare and file Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Provincial Sales Tax (PST) returns, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Manage documentation related to these tax filings.
Financial Reporting and Compliance: Assist in month-end closing procedures, and prepare financial reports and statements. Ensure data accuracy, completeness and compliance with accounting policies.
Electronic Document Management System (EDMS): Maintain and update electronic filing systems to ensure all financial documents are securely stored and easily accessible. Implement best practices for digital document management and data security.
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements for better performance and more effective financial operations. Implement changes to optimize financial processes.
Working Conditions:
This role can be hybrid or remote, with the expectation of a standard 40-hour work week. Some flexibility in hours may be necessary during financial end-of-month, end-of-year reporting periods, or tax filing deadlines.
