Power BI Architect (WInnipeg)

Paradigm Consulting is looking for a Power BI Architect for its valuable customer

Our customers are beginning to return to the office. Depending on the customer, the role may or may not start remote but may switch to onsite at the customer direction. The successful candidate will need to be able to perform work on customer premises as a condition of hire.

What you’ll do: (For the Customer) 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, client-facing role where delivering solid work products to exceed high expectations is a measure of success
  • Prepare detailed documentation for Training, Governance, Best Practice, Self-Service guidelines, etc.
  • Creating visualizations but also on architecting the solution, setting up the infrastructure, implementing the first set of reports and dashboards and knowledge transfer
  • Taking on a leadership role providing guidance, advising and help setting up the environments, the backend management and administration of the Service, Workspaces and the Gateway
  • Lead, Develop and deliver results individually collaborating with IT and BUSINESS for delivery.
  • Hands of experience in Optimization, Improvements in end-to-end process Power BI space.
  • Good to have Architectural knowledge/experience in building/set-up data lake platform and concepts.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills with a track record of meeting deadlines

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the development and administration of at least one of the following areas:
What we’d like:  
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with Product Owners with planning, change management and product backlog maintenance\refinement 
  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 10-15 team members including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel 
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Stack (SSAS, SSRS)
  • Lead process in creating a dashboard/visualization strategy
  • Client team mentoring
  • Improve performance and reliability of hosting
  • Design, develop, optimize, maintain and support ETL processes using Stored Procedures and Microsoft SSIS
  • Assist with assessment of hosted, cloud service and make recommendations on best services.
  • Audit existing data systems: models, queries, data quality, security, and suggest a modernization roadmap.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack and Data Analytics
    Power BI development and administration
  • Proficient in design and fully functional dashboards/reports on MS Power BI
    Proficient and understanding of Power BI Services environment (workspaces, dataflows)
    Experience of conversation of SSRS reports into Power BI Reports and Power BI dashboard
  • Experience in successful delivery of Agile projects within >= 2 of the common IT delivery categories –
    • OCM, COTS, Application Development, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Business Intelligence, Data Migration, Business Transformation
  • Agile Delivery experience in Canada would be an asset – Specific experience within Regina, Saskatoon or Winnipeg would be a bonus 
  • Formal Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma from a recognized educational facility
