UI/UX Designer (Regina)

Paradigm has opportunities for a UI/UX Designer to employ their knowledge, skills and techniques to deliver and implement significant initiatives and enable our customers to maximize their investments in their business processes and information technology.

Our customers are beginning to return to the office. Depending on the customer, the role may or may not start remote but may switch to onsite at the customer direction.

What you’ll do: (for the Customer)
  • Work closely with Digital Subject Matter Experts (Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers and Testers) within the Client organization, to help define Product Strategy and deliver the best Online User Experience
  • Develop a deep understanding of how the Client’s customers function and how they use the Client’s Products and Services
  • Conduct Research to inform Design solutions as well as identifies requirements for new web solutions and software application projects
  • Own the End-to-End Design process – take the design of initial Lo-Fi conceptual wireframes and Prototypes to Hi-Fi Pixel Perfect Production quality
  • Plan and implement new UI/UX design standards and design templates
  • Optimize existing UI/UX design templates
  • Communicate with the client to gather their business objectives and goals as it relates to UI/UX
  • Develop technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centric solutions
  • Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements
  • Conduct Usability Testing on ideas and validate them before deployment / end-user adoption
  • Develop solutions to meet all relevant and current accessibility standards
  • Be a good storyteller. Exhibit strong facilitation and collaboration abilities to facilitate discussions and workshop with developers and business analyst to advocate for good user experience and potential solutions to identified problems
  • Interact with appropriate teams to ensure brand alignment and consistency
  • Distill complex problems into easy to understand User flows and wireframes
  • Develop applicable documentation and templates for use by other groups
  • Keep current with relevant technologies and techniques
  • Evaluates new methodologies and technologies that improve the quality, reliability, and performance of frontend site/application development systems and processes
  • Proposes creative UX and front-end solutions to solve problems
  • Recommends changes and improvements to existing web application development processes as needed
  • Defines tools, best practices and methodologies required for developing web solutions
What we’d like:
  • 3+ years proven working experience in a UX Designer / Product Designer position
  • Top-notch User Interaction  and in-depth knowledge of design principles and standards
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, DOM and Responsive Design
  • Advanced knowledge of wireframe and prototyping tools, such as the wireframe.cc, cacoo and Adobe XD
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of cross-browser compatibility issues and design
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
  • Proven aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
  • BS in computer science or a related field – Web design based curriculum would be a bonus
  • 3+ years experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies 
  • Strong communication, organizational, planning and relationship skills 
  • Experience in successful delivery of projects within more than 1 of the following industries - Insurance, Financial Services, Crown Corporations, Public Sector, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Energy, Automotive, Manufacturing 
  • Experience in successful delivery of projects within more than 2 of the common IT delivery categories - COTS, Application Development, Cyber Security, Cloud, Business Intelligence, Data Migration, Business Transformation  
  • Delivery experience within Canada – experience in Regina, Saskatoon or Winnipeg would be a bonus
